“Landmark Docuseries Launches Uganda’s Vision to Become a Global Export Powerhouse”

The Presidential Advisory Committee on Exports and Industrial Development (PACEID), has strategically partnered with Ryder Media and the Private Office of Chief Nana Dakrabo I to produce major films in Uganda, starting with a high-impact docuseries highlighting Uganda’s history, transformation, and cultural richness. This landmark partnership aligns with PACEID’s mission to position Uganda as a desirable sourcing centre for organic agricultural exports, a world-class destination for tourism, business, and global investment—while marking a pivotal moment in establishing Uganda’s creative economy as a major export sector.

Under President Yoweri Museveni’s vision to transform Uganda’s economy through exports, PACEID has identified film and media as a strategic industry capable of driving economic growth, creating jobs, and exporting Uganda’s rich heritage to international audiences, and contributing to the USD 6 billion export target by 2028 and USD 100 billion by 2062. Through this partnership, Uganda will not only showcase its own story to the world, but also establish itself as a premier film destination in Africa, attracting global studios, distributors, and investors.

“Uganda is on an unprecedented path of growth and development, and it is essential that the world sees the incredible opportunities and progress our nation is making,” says Odrek Rwabwogo, Chairman of PACEID. “This collaboration is more than just producing movies—it is a foundation of a global movement to elevate Uganda’s presence in international markets, attract investment, and establish the creative sector as a pillar of Uganda’s export economy. By exporting our films, we are exporting our country, our culture, our creative talent, and our national identity to the world.”

Jojo Ryder, President of Ryder Media

The production, spearheaded by Hollywood Creator and Executive Producer JoJo Ryder, is set to be one of the most ambitious media projects ever undertaken in Uganda. Ryder, whose past projects include American Heist starring Adrien Brody and Hayden Christensen, Talks with Mama Tina featuring Zendaya and Kevin Hart, and A Little White Lie starring Kate Hudson and Michael Shannon, has produced projects that have received Daytime Emmy and Oscar nominations.

In January 2025, he and his team traveled to Uganda, engaging with key figures, visiting significant sites, exploring emerging industries, and capturing breathtaking visuals that will bring Uganda’s story to life on a global scale. “Our trip to Uganda was truly eye-opening. The people, the culture, and the vast economic potential make it a story that must be told on the global stage,” said JoJo Ryder, President of Ryder Media. “There is an undeniable energy and momentum in Uganda that the world needs to see. From its entrepreneurial spirit to its natural beauty, this is a country ready to make its mark in global media and entertainment. We are honored to partner with PACEID and Chief Nana to bring this vision to life and begin to establish Uganda as a creative powerhouse in Africa.”
