PACEID, in collaboration with various Ugandan and South African partners, will be organizing the Uganda-South Africa Trade, Tourism, and Investment Summit 2023. The Summit, set to take place from 27th February to 1st March 2023 in Pretoria, South Africa, will mark the first-ever gathering of its kind between the two nations. The event will be attended by 300 delegates, including business leaders, government officials, policymakers, and media representatives.
The primary objective of the Summit is to create a platform for fruitful exchanges between the private sector, government entities, and regulatory agencies. Participants will engage in open discussions, sharing insights, ideas, and information to facilitate investment opportunities and business collaborations between Uganda and South Africa. The Summit will focus on key sectors such as tourism, trade and investment, finance, manufacturing, mining, energy resources, ICT, and infrastructure development, among others.
The event’s structure will feature plenary sessions, panel discussions, business exhibitions, and business-to-business (B2B) sessions. Through these interactive platforms, the Summit aims to foster strengthened bilateral cooperation, attract potential investors, and establish a framework for hosting an annual Trade, Tourism, and Investment Summit between Uganda and South Africa.
Notably, South Africa has emerged as a vital source of Foreign Direct Investment for Uganda, with trade flows encompassing a range of commodities and sectors. The Summit presents an opportunity to enhance investment and trade links, leverage existing relations, and showcase Uganda’s diverse investment potential to both South African and international investors.
As PACEID spearheads the organization of this significant event, it aims to promote sustainable, inclusive, and balanced growth, creating a positive impact on Uganda’s trade balance and overall national development.
